Already planning an international surf trip once this whole pandemic thing blows over?

If so then Canadian photographer Anthony Sheardown highly recommends Popoyo in Nicaragua.

Having travelled there for a third time in late 2019, Anthony spent 10 days surfing and shooting photos, subsequently releasing a zine from his travels – which you can purchase directly from his site here.

Perhaps one of the lesser frequented surf destinations, Anthony shares his love for the simpler life it offers.

“Everybody’s awesome down there, everything’s super cheap, everyone’s just chillin’ and havin’ a good time”.

For detailed trip tips you’ll have to read Anthony’s interview in his zine. But we already know that NicaWaves Surf Camp is the perfect hostel to make friends and that you’ll probably spend most evenings at a bar called Finca Popoyo, which sits on a hill and overlooks the ocean.

Check out some select photos below and start planning that 2021 trip.
