Nars is an intimate documentation of the experiences of Filipino nurses within the NHS by filmmaker Patrick Taylor.
Nars (Filipino-Tagalog for ‘Nurse’) combines scrap-book like collages against Super 8 visuals to illustrate the thoughts, stories and opinions of four UK based Filipino nurses, as they discuss the Philippines’ emphasis on family, care-based culture and their marginalisation within the NHS, as the largest exporter of nurses worldwide, all set against the backdrop of a global pandemic.
