We first remember seeing Cher’s face pop up in William Strobeck’s Candyland video. Right off the bat, Cher’s eccentric approach was a full throwback To skateboarding’s punk rock roots, undoubtedly inspiring a whole generation of queer skateboarders to follow her path.
Vans and Patrick O’Dell recently teamed up on the above film, giving us an insight on who she really is. The pair take us back to Cher’s early days, her role within Oakland-based Unity Skateboarding and Glue Skateboards, shedding light on the experiences that lead to her championing inclusivity within skateboarding worldwide.
