American painter, sculptor, and photographer Chase Hall, recently debuted his first solo exhibition in New York entitled Aleczander.

Nora DeLigter & Faye Tsakas‘ intimate portrait via NOWNESS, provides a unique insight into Chase’s art practice and personal story, detailing his examination of biraciality in the context of Western portraiture.

From doodling on Starbucks receipts to using coffee on canvas, Chase talks candidly about his craft, his resilience to not fail and how a difficult upbringing helped him gain a unique insight into the cognitive dissonance that lies at the heart of American society; something his work deeply reflects.
