Venus is the latest work from filmmaker Christopher Hanany, offering a hypnotic portrait of Sofia Ramdan.
Born without arms, Sofia shares her vision of beauty among the statues of the Venus of Milos in the residence “Les Caryatides” designed by the architect Manuel Nuñez Yanowsky.
Despite battling a disability most of us can never relate to, Venus never dwells on the hardships but rather highlights Sofia’s strength and empowerment. As she puts it herself, “Beauty is equivalent to self-acceptance. Each person is unique and each defect has it’s beauty”.
