We first heard from Rafa Gonzalez a little while ago via our friends at Project Upcoming Publishing and we’ve been keeping a close eye ever since.
From Panama to Barcelona. Skate photography to urban landscapes. 35mm to Polaroids. Rafa documents his environments and the people who inhabit them, mostly on black and white film and with an incredible eye for composition and lighting. We’re already far sold and you should be too.
We were recently gifted with a gem from his archives, a series of panoramic 35mm shots snapped on the Hasselblad Xpan between 2014 and 2015 in New York City.
Rafa is now busy working on a new project mixing skateboarding and visual arts called Interstate Magazine. The first issue is due for release very soon, keep your eyes open.
Rafa is part of the RVCA Artist Network Program.
